Missoni Show - Men's and Women's Collection Autumn/Winter 2018/19 in Milan (with interview)

Designer: Angela MissoniInspiration: An urban influence from New York in the seventies and eighties.Collection: long scarves, ponchos, big gilets or fluid coats. An incredible work on the effects of texture, material and pointillism with fringing and abstract motifs. The silhouette is longline with ultra-long trousers and striped tube dresses, in knitted lurex which trail to the ground. To note: men and women on the same catwalk, the turban for men, clashing stripes and checks, a relaxed allure for a comfortable and creative wardrobe, abundant with propositions. Interview: Yes, the starting point was colour, the cultural clash in New York at the end of the seventies, start of the eighties where there was a very positive energy. Effectively, it’s an urban collection. I believe that it’s maybe a show where I used a lot more texture and a bigger mix of textures. There’s lot of knitting, lots of fabrics, there are fabrics which appear stitched and knitting that looks like fabric, there’s always a play on something. But I think that it’s really a collection in which I used a lot more textures and colours together. I tried to create emotion, a moment of joy.Music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information)
